I'm back....vacation's over

 Hi Everyone!

I'm back from my vacation...yes, I really had a great time with my family, many friends from Kindergarten, can you believeit? And, also many of my friends from high school.  So much fun seeing everyone! Then, four days at Virginia beach with the husband and two of my six grandchildren. Some of my neices and nephews and my sister came down also, some of them stayed overnight. It was a blast.

I hope I have found something to post that will be a blessing to you today. I dearly love bible study, and also teaching the bible; which, I have the blessing of doing through my  church.  I'm excited about this site I found on www. komando.com. We are doing a teaching on "The Tabernacle" for the next few weeks in Sunday School and  I am sure I will get some help from this site as we try to envision the tabernacle. Kim, who posts this site posts a great cool sites everyday. You should visit her,  she also give good tech information and help with computer and all things technical.  I have really learned much from her. It's free.  Give it a look see!

Today's Cool Site...from www.komando.com

Match current geography with the Bible

In the past 100 years, many countries have formed. Many other countries have fallen apart. And the names of places change regularly.
The Bible records thousands of years of events. It's no surprise that many of the given geographic names are outdated. This can make it difficult to visualize places and landmarks.

Today's Cool Site is about  Biblical geographic information that can be overlaid onto Google Maps. The atlas section helps you find Biblical place names alphabetically.
You can also find locations by a book, chapter or verse. Selecting a book or chapter shows all the places in that section. Click the preview link to see the geographic overlay in Google Maps.
In addition, you can download overlay files for Google Earth. These overlays contain place names and sometimes more. That includes things like historical borders and bodies of water.

It's BBQ Season!  Loving the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.

This BBQ sauce recipe sounded so good, I had to share it with you.  Give it a try.  I think it speaks for it's self.

Big Al's K.C. BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 4 teaspoons hickory-flavored liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, mix together the ketchup, tomato sauce, brown sugar, wine vinegar, molasses, liquid smoke and butter. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, celery seed, cinnamon, cayenne, salt and pepper.
  2. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for up to 20 minutes. For thicker sauce, simmer longer, and for thinner, less time is needed. Sauce can also be thinned using a bit of water if necessary. Brush sauce onto any kind of meat during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

***** Yummy, that sunds good.  If you make this sauce, leave me a comment and let me know what you thought of it.        Allrecipes.com (see this site for some great recipes)

Restaurant.com Did you know that Restaurant.com offers savings at more than 15,000 restaurants nationwide.  Go to Restaurant.com and join.  It's free.  They will send you emails when they drop prices. They drop prices as low as 80%, it is really a great deal.  A word of caution.  Always check the restaurant you choose to make sure they are open.  Restaurants are having problems as are many businesses in this economy.  My very favorite restaurant closed recently. I had a gift certificate. It was 80% off.  I only lost $2.00, but it was still a loss. They were  members of restaurant.com
