It's summer time.....and the living is easy

It's summer time; time for fun, outdoor activities and travel.  I'm looking at travel websites this week. While looking I ran across some helpful tips:

Purchase an entertainment book for the city you plan to visit.  I always purchase one; it is amazing how much money you save on food and activities.  When you are finished with it pass it on to a person in the city you visited.  Perhaps an employee at your hotel.  They will appreciate it and think fondly of you each time they use it. Go to www.entertainment.com and order your book.  It only takes a few day to arrive.  ENJOY!

Hotels-Do a price comparison for hotels.  Put in one of the travel sites(travelocity) that discount hotels and flights then put in "compare prices".  All sites do not charge the same.  If you are flying and need a car and a hotel you usually get a better deal.  Read the ratings that other travelers leave on the sites.  You will be glad you did!
After you have booked your hotel call it directly and speak with the desk person, be sure they know exactly what you requested.  This will save you a lot of stress on your arrival.

This one was new to me. I read it on TipHero.com.  Always request clean linen when you check in.  Sheets are washed daily but blankets and spreads are not. Blankets usually once a week  And spreads maybe monthly.

NEVER! use long distance from your room, a 5 min. call may cost you $10.00.  That happened to me.  What a shocker!  I thought it was a mistake.

Always be nice, you will get so much more from the staff.  Free room upgrades if they are not full.  Free food etc.  they have a lot of power to make your stay more FRUGAL!  If you must complain, be nice.

Key:  Everything is negotiable.   Have a wonderful vacation this year and "Let's save some money"

Thanks, Deal seeking Mom

This is a worthy effort.  The ladies of my church have adopted a family.  It is a great outreach.  Pray for military families.  They really need our prayers.  What a sacrifice they make for us.

As you go through your coupons, take out the expired to replace with the great new ones, think about sending your expired to our military members overseas.
Military Mommy reader, Amanda D., shared this link to Overseas Coupon Program. Get your coupons together, read through the adoption section to adopt a base, and send them over. It’s easy and it helps our service members overseas. Another great way to celebrate Military Appreciation Month this month and all year!
(Thanks My Military Mommy!)

Have agreat vacation.
As always..."Let's save some money"
